Tree Inspector - Leicestershire

Opportunity to work for a large East Midlands local authority's tree section. Employing several Tree Officers and Inspectors our client not only manages their own authority trees, but also those of several neighbouring councils.  They also have a direct work force of Arborists who maintain the council's trees.

They currently have funding for an additional Inspector. Duties; To inspect, assess and report upon the condition of roadside and other trees, ascertain the ownership of trees on private land and provide technical information for the serving of notices to remedy defects.   Also to maintain and update computerised tree inventories and inspection records, issue work instructions to contractors where required, and carry out a range of other forestry and arboricultural related tasks.

Candidates will need to be qualified to a minimum of level 3 in arboriculture and ideally have previous technical experience. LANTRA professional tree inspection would be an advantage. However, they will also consider candidates who have no technical experience but hold the relevant qualifications. A full driving licence and access to a car for business purposes is essential (mileage paid). An hourly rate of £14 PAYE is offered.   They also pay mileage for travel within the council area.
