An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to play a key role within the Highways & Transportation Section’s Soft Landscape Team, based out of offices in Ashford and Aylesford. This technical inspection role will cover all aspects of highway related tree management including programmed tree asset inspections and ad-hoc reactive site visits to meet customer demand and emergency situations. The role will primarily be based in east Kent. However, the ability to travel independently and work across the entire county will be a pre-requisite.
The ideal candidate will be suitably experienced in highway tree inspections able to specify, schedule and supervise tree works and possess the ability to communicate effectively across a multitude of stakeholders. We will also consider a recent graduate seeking to establish themselves within the industry. A good understanding of tree related legislation will be required and applicants will need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills including experience of mapping systems and the use data capture hardware in the field. Knowledge of Confirm arboriculture, GIS, PICUS & Resistograph decay detection would be an advantage.
Suitable applicants will have a level 3 qualification in arboriculture or similar, plus 1-3 years experience of the arboricultural industry; ideally involving some basic tree surveying/inspection. A full UK driving licence is also essential. A pool vehicle is available for use in post. In return a starting salary of £12.88 to £14.76/hour is offered and the positions will transfer to permanent for the right candidates.
