We are seeking a Senior Arboriculturist for our client's small team based at their offices just outside Peterborough, delivering high-quality services across a diverse range of projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on technical tree work with some management responsibilities in a multidisciplinary consultancy. Hybrid working available.
Salary: Up to £48,000, based on experience.
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part-time considered), permanent
Your Role
You will manage and carry out arboricultural works while ensuring best practices are followed. You will be responsible for a combination of tree care, vegetation management, and support the management of projects and the team.Key Responsibilities
- BS 5837 surveys and preparing technical notes, impact assessments, method statements and management plans.
- Organise resources such as logistics, equipment and manpower for projects.
- Undertake site supervision works and safety/ risk surveys always ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide arboricultural advice to clients and tree safety/ risk management strategies.
- Produce accurate and timely quotes and tenders and assist with quality assurance of reports and plans.
- Provide technical guidance on tree care, occasionally assessing tree health and recommending maintenance or remedial work.
- Lead and collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality arboricultural services across both arboriculture and ecology projects.
- Mentor junior team members, supporting their development and increasing their industry proficiency.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Level 4 or above diploma in arboriculture, or equivalent PTI (Professional Tree Inspection)
- 3 years’ experience within a consultancy role
- Good arboricultural knowledge, including tree biology and biomechanics.
- Full UK driving licence with experience towing up to 3,500kg.
- EFAW+F (Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry) qualification.
- Ability to work independently when required, as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- Use initiative to manage priorities effectively
- Previous experience managing others
