- Description
We are looking for a senior arborist/team leader at a local authority in the Cannock/Burntwood area, and they are looking for a full time arborist team leader to join their expanding arb department, working across urban and rural areas.
Alongside countryside services, grounds maintenance, parks and cemetery staff, the workload is diverse and includes all areas such as parks, cemeteries, housing areas and countryside sites with various nature conservation designations, tasks including tree climbing, tree pruning, felling and cross cutting.
Requirements:
- Brushwood chipper and stump grinder experience
- CS38 and CS39 tickets - aerial rescue and aerial use of chainsaw from a rope and harness
- Ideally level 3 in aerial tree pruning, aerial tree rigging and use of a chainsaw from a MEWP
- Full UK driving licence, ideally with trailer licence- Desirable but not essential: first aid training +F, PA1, PA6 and PA6A.
We recognise that some candidates will be experienced in some of these but may not hold all of these certificates, but would consider training for the right candidate.
In return a salary of up to c. £37k pa is offered for a 37-hour week, alongside enhanced holiday pay of 31 days annual leave inc. bank holidays, increasing to 34 days per year after 5 years of service, and access to the generous Local Government Pension Scheme. The role is temporary with the option to become permanent following a probationary period.
