- Description
Opportunity to join a large East Midlands local authority's tree section. The Arb department manages their own authority trees and also those of several neighbouring councils. They also have a direct work force of Arborists who maintain the council's trees.
As a Tree Officer, your duties will include:
- liaising with and providing advice to officers at the Council, other authorities and the public
- assisting with the control and monitoring of budgets relating to the Council's tree service
- carry out a rolling programme of tree inspections
- assisting with the running of the complete range of arboriculture services e.g. tree surgery and planting, maintenance, inspections, maintaining the Council's tree database
Requirements:
- minimum level 3 in arboriculture
- experience of working in forestry and arboriculture inc. practical and technical level
- knowledge of tree biology/pathology and modern arboricultural practices
- UK driving licence
An hourly rate of £18.36 PAYE is offered (c. £38k pa), alongside 28 days paid leave (inc. bank holidays) and access to a company vehicle for work purposes. This is a temporary position, becoming permanent after a probationary period.
