- Description
Opportunity to join a large East Midlands local authority's tree section. The Arb department manages their own authority trees and also those of several neighbouring councils. They also have a direct work force of Arborists who maintain the council's trees.
As a Tree Inspector, duties will include:
- carry out tree inspections next to highways and other sites
- ascertain ownership of defective trees
- prepare reports and plans on defective trees, send out remedy notifications
- carry out and record ash dieback in the Council's tree stock
- assist with the provision of the Council's arb service
Requirements:
- minimum level 3 in arboriculture
- experience of working in forestry and arboriculture, inc. decision-making on tree health, structural safety, pathogens etc.
- knowledge of tree biology/pathology and modern arboricultural practices
- recognition of physiological tree defects
- UK driving licence
An hourly rate of £16.62 PAYE is offered (c. £35k pa), alongside 28 days paid leave (inc. bank holidays) and access to a company vehicle for work purposes.
