- Description
We are looking for a tree officer at a local authority in the Cannock/Burntwood area to join their expanding arb department, working across urban and rural areas.
As a tree officer, you will provide professional arboricultural advice and support on all matters relating to tree management work on trees on land owned by the Council, deal with the day to day enquiries from members of the public and other Council Departments, liaise with the Senior Tree Officer on a daily basis making them aware of any Community Trees, Tree Preservation Orders and tree related, planning Applications, and carry out tree condition/Risk Assessment inspections and ensure the Council’s tree inspection database is updated.
Requirements:
- minimum level 3 in arboriculture or equivalent
- experience of local authority arboriculture work, inc. tree risk assements and TPOs
- full UK driving licence
- desirable - tree inspection and surveying qualification e.g QTRA and/or Lantra PTI.
In return a salary of up to c. £40k pa is offered for a 37-hour week, alongside enhanced holiday pay of 31 days annual leave inc. bank holidays, increasing to 34 days per year after 5 years of service, and access to the generous Local Government Pension Scheme. The role is temporary with the option to become permanent following a probationary period.
